For my first card I used Coffee Right Meow.  This set has the cutest cats and sentiments that are perfect for making cards for your coffee-loving family and friends!  I colored this sad little feline with copics and then cut him out using the coordinating die set.  I cut my dp and cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Die - I think I reach for this die set every time I make a card!  I added a few Love Me Some Latte Gumdrops.

My second card features the sweet Life's A Hoot clear stamp set.  Owls are so popular right now and this set has such cute ones with lots of sentiments for all sorts of different occasions!  I colored the image with copics and then cut it out using the coordinating die set.  Again, I used the Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut my papers for this card.  I added some Glossy Accents to the birthday balloon and a few of our sweet gumdrops to finish my card.

Your Next Stamp - December Release Sneak Peek

Good morning!  The Your Next Stamp release is tomorrow but we have some awesome sneak peeks to share with you today!  We have lots of great products and I know you're going to love the new release!  So ... are you ready for a fun peek?

Isn't this a happy little snowman?  I love him!  He's from the Snow Much Joy stamp set.  The tree and snow landscape you see behind the snowman is also included in this awesome stamp set!  I colored him with copics and then added a little bit of Glamour Dust for a frosty look.  I cut him out using the coordinating die set.  I used the Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut a white card stock panel.  Then I stamped the landscape and masked it so I could sponge on inks for the blue sky.  I spattered some white acrylic paint over the background but it doesn't really show up in this picture.  Be sure to drop by the Your Next Stamp Blog for links to all the new projects featuring December's release.

Thank you for stopping by.  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our blog hop and a full reveal of the December release!  You'll want to hop along with us for a chance to win a gift certificate to the shop!

Challenge #54 - Sketch

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you had an enjoyable weekend.  Today I'm sharing a card I made for our new challenge over at Always Playing With Paper's The Challenge.

Our challenge this week is a fun sketch.  I was lucky enough to find this cute Pure Innocence Season's Tweetings stamp and coordinating die at my LSS and couldn't wait to color this sweetie.  I colored her and the birdie with copics and then added some polka-dots to her clothes with white acrylic paint.  I used the Stitched Rectangle Die Set and the Spring/Summer Scene Die  (snowbank) from Your Next Stamp.  The snowflake was cut using a die from Your Next Stamp's Winter Fun Tag Die Set and then I added an enamel dot to the snowflake.

Be sure to stop by The Challenge to see the gorgeous projects by the rest of the DT!  I hope you find some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week!

Let's Chill

It's pretty cold here today and there's a heavy frost on the ground so I thought this card was a perfect fit!

This chubby little fella is from the Paper Smooches' Swanky Snowdudes clear stamp set.  This set has really cute snowmen and sentiments so be sure to check it out ... especially if you love snowmen as much as I do!  I colored the images with copics and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I added some Glamour Dust and silver sequins for some sparkle.  If you're in my local area you can find all the supplies to make this card at The Paper Cottage.

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay warm!

Day 4 of Gift Giving/Winter Fun Tag Die Set

Hello friends!  Today I'm hosting a new blog series (The 12 Days of Gift Giving) over on the Your Next Stamp Blog.  Be sure to stop by the YNS Blog to check out the awesome projects my teammates have been sharing this week.

I love making my own gift tags to dress up presents.  You can make a plain and inexpensive gift bag look fabulous just by dressing it up with a handmade tag.

Here's the picture of the finished tags I made.  My grandson loves puppies and my granddaughter loves kitties so I thought these sweet little shaker tags would be perfect to go on one of their packages.  These are really simple to make and they're definitely one-of-a-kind, right?

For my tags I used the Winter Fun Tag Die Set.  I started by die cutting four of the tags from the set.

Next I used the smallest rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangle Die Set.  I centered the rectangle die on the tag and used some tape to hold it in place and then ran it through my die cutting machine.

I did this to 2 of the tags to create the shaker window.  These pieces will be the front of the tag.

I cut 2 pieces of acetate a little larger than the shaker windows.  I apologize for the glare from the acetate but I wasn't able to get a picture with no glare.  Turn the front pieces of the tags face down and apply a thin line of glue to the backs and adhere the acetate.  I also applied some foam tape around the edge.  My foam tape was too wide so I just trimmed it down until it fit around the edge of the tag without showing through the window.  Be careful not to leave any gaps in the foam tape because that's what holds the sequins inside the shaker - you don't want those pretty sparklies escaping, right?

In the photo above, the front of the tag is face down on the left.  The tag on the right is the back of the tag.  Since the sequins always seem to settle to the bottom of the shaker, I like to adhere a few sequins in the "upper portion" of the shaker window on the inside of the back tag (hope that wasn't too confusing).  Once you've glued a few sequins to the back part of the tag let the glue completely dry before you assemble the shaker tag (otherwise you end up with a wet, sticky mess - ask me how I know lol).  Once the glue is dry, remove the backing on the foam tape and place the back tag onto the front tag.

This is what your tag will look like at this point.  Then you can decorate it any way you like.

I used the sweet pup and cat from the Cozy Christmas Jessica stamp set.  I colored them with copics and cut them out using the coordinating die set.  I also used the snowflake from the Winter Fun Tag Die Set.  I added some Glamour Dust to the pup's stocking, the cat's hat, and the snowflakes and adhered a Holly Jolly Sparkly Gumdrop to each snowflake.

I hope I've inspired you to use the Winter Fun Tag Die Set to create your very own gift tags this holiday season!  Be sure to stop by the Your Next Stamp Blog each day to see the amazing projects the team will be sharing.

Thanks for stopping by.
