Embellish It!

Hello peeps.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.  Mine was very relaxing.  Since it's Tuesday that means we have a new challenge for you over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  It was my turn to pick the challenge and I chose "make your own embellishments".  You can use punches, dies, or whatever suits you and you can add as many or as few embellishments as you want.  Now, how easy is that?

I used BFF's Phoebe on my card and colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I stitched around my image and used my Martha Stewart lace heart border punch.  My flower was made using a My Favorite Things die.  I handcut the little leaf and added a pearl to the flower.

Be sure you stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to check out the gorgeous cards by the other DT members.  I hope you find time to play along in our challenge this week.

I'm Making a Scene

Hello friends.  I hope you've been enjoying this holiday weekend.  We've been having beautiful weather.  It's been extremely hot the last two days but after all the rain we've had, I'm trying not to complain about the heat lol!  I've been wanting to make one of the side-step cards that I've been seeing all over blog-land.  The challenge over at Some Odd Girls is to make a scene, so I figured this would be the perfect time to make the step card.

I used Some Odd Girl's "Smell the Flowers Tia" for my card.  Isn't she adorable?  I colored Tia with copics and colored pencils.  I used my Martha Stewart punch for the fences, and My Favorite Things die-namics for the tree, grass, and flowers.  I stenciled the clouds behind Tia.  This card was a lot of fun to work on and super easy to make.  Sorry that this picture isn't the greatest.  For some reason I had a hard time trying to get a decent photo of this card :)

A New Release at Meljen's Designs

Hello peeps.  We have a new release over at Meljen's Designs and it's just in time for Father's Day.

I used Number One Dad on my card.  I love this image, and the stripes and plaids were so much fun to color.  I used copics and colored pencils and added a little bit of twine and a few buttons.  That's right ... no stickles, glitter, or flowers :)

Here's the latest Meljen's Designs release and you can find all these fabulous images over at Whimsy Stamps.  Please be sure to stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to see the beautiful cards made by the super-talented DT.  While you're there, check out the details on our latest challenge.

Simply Distressed

Good afternoon to all of you.  I hope you're all having a fantastic day so far.  I have a little something to share.

I used Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Vintage Boutique for my card today.  I colored this lovely lady with copics and colored pencils and then I decided I would distress my card ... to go along with the vintage theme.  Now I have to admit, I'm not much of a distresser.  For some reason I have a difficult time making myself rough up the edges of my paper lol!  But I think I've managed to do a decent job with the distressing, don't you?  I've added some lace and a lacey rosette that I made.  The pearl in the rosette is actually a brad that I've had forever.  My layout is Maria Therese's sketch from over at The Sugar Bowl.  There's still lots of time to join in that challenge so be sure to pop over and check out all the details.  If you would like to own this lovely lady you can find her over at Funky Kits.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Life's A Beach

Hello friends.  I have a new card to share.

This little cutie is called Summer Butterfly Bear - Beach and she's from Bugaboo Stamps.  Isn't she adorable in her little polka-dot swimsuit?  She's got her beach towel, beach ball and sparkly sandles.  What more could a butterfly bear need for a relaxing day at the beach?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils and then added Glossy Accents to her antennae, nose, the beach ball, and the dots on her swimsuit.  I added some stickles to her wings and her sandles.  The little yellow polka-dot circle with the button is suppose to look like the sun, but I'm not sure how well that worked lol!  I used some twine (I love that stuff!) and a little fish-shaped button that I've had in my stash for years.

Thank you for stopping by.

TLT Challenge 29 - Animals

Happy Tuesday friends!  We have a new challenge for you over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog today.  Our lovely Pinky got to choose the theme this week and she has asked that we use animals on our cards.

I used Catflap Magnum on my card.  Isn't he a grumpy little thing?  I think he's mad because he's put on too much weight over the winter and can't get out his door lol!  I used copics and colored pencils to color my image and added a little Glossy Accents to his eyes and nose.  The sentiment is from the It's Only Words 2 set.  You can find all the Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps and other goodies here.

I hope you're all having a wonderful day :)  The weekend is finally here and I am really looking forward to relaxing and spending time with my family.  This has been a crazy week so it's going to be nice to just sit and chill ... and work on cards, of course!

I've used a Bugaboo image called Summertime Peekers - Flowerpot on my card today.  Isn't she a cutie?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils and then added some stickles to the flowers.  I used white acrylic paint to add some polka dots to her hairbow.  I used some ribbon from my stash and added a little pearl to the butterfly.

Meljen's Designs Challenge

Happy Friday!  Wow, I was beginning to think the weekend would never get here.  This has been a really long week for me and I am soooo ready for some R & R this weekend.  Anyhow, Meljen's Designs has a new challenge so I have a card to share with you today.

I used Stitched Swirls Heart on my card.  I can think of so many uses for this pretty image.  In addition to Memorial Day and Independence Day, I thought this image would be great for a card to a soldier.  I colored the image with copics and colored pencils and added StarDust stickles to the yellow star.  The border punch is by Fiskars and the ribbon and button are from my stash.  Be sure to stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to see what the amazing DT have created this week.

Simply Sophisticated

Well, I'm baaaack!  Wow, I haven't written a post in forever.  My hubby's surgery is done and we are finally home.  He had a couple of complications but everything is OK now and he's doing so much better.  I want to thank all of you for keeping us in your prayers and thoughts.  I have made so many wonderful friends through this blog and I appreciate all of you so much.  You're the greatest!  I've dusted the cobwebs off this old blog and have something new to share with you today.

This gorgeous image is 5th Avenue and she is one of the latest Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy stamps.  I have to say she truly is one of my favorite Simply Sassy images and I loved coloring her.  I used copics and colored pencils and then added lots of Glamour Dust to give her lovely dress tons of sparkle.  So then her shoes were looking a little plain, so I decided she needed a purse and shoes that sparkled too!  I cut the image out with Nestabilities and added Glamour Dust around the edge.  A few flowers finished my card.  I love easel cards but I never seem to be able to take very good pictures of them.  I'm afraid this picture may not do her justice ... she is so pretty IRL lol!

I'm having a blogger issue and wonder if any of you have run into this problem.  If so, I'd love to know how to fix it.  When I try to upload a photo to my blog, all I get is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and the words "server rejected".  In order to load my photos for this post, I had to do it in the edit mode rather than the compose mode.  Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Lazy Susan Buggies

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge this week over at the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog.  Our challenge this week is Graduation.  I'm sure we all need some graduation cards this time of year, so why not join in our challenge?

While I definitely need to get some graduation cards made, I decided I'd work on those later as I've been wanting to color this image for so long.  This image is called Lazy Susan Buggies and I love this image.  I absolutely adore these daisies with the bumble bees and ladybugs.  I think it's one of my favorite Meljen's Designs images ... well, OK, I know I say that about all of them lol!  I colored with my copics and colored pencils and added some StarDust stickles to the bumble bees and tiny hearts.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the ladybugs.  I love the red and white combo.  I think it looks so crisp and summery.

Be sure you stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to see what the talented DT members have come up with this week.  Pictured below is the latest Meljen's Designs release.  Aren't they perfect for your graduation cards?  I hope you are able to join in our challenge this week.

Good morning peeps.  We have a new challenge for you over at Card Cupids.  The challenge this week is to make cards with flowers.  The flowers can be stamped, digital, or added as an embellishment.  Now, how easy is that?

Card Cupids is being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs this week.  I used Rah Rah Rhonda.  Isn't she a cutie?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I added lots of stickles to her pom-poms ... hey, what's a cheerleader without sparkly pom-poms?  I used some Prisma flowers, jute, and a button to finish my card.

A Simple Gift Bag

Happy Thursday to all of you.  The weekend will be here before you know it ... yeah!

Today I have a little gift bag and tag to share with you.  Let's start with my tag.  I used Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Oh La La.  Isn't she adorable in her little beret?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils and used a black glaze pen on the buttons on her boots.  I adhered her to a tag that I cut out with one of my old Sizzie dies.

If you would like to see how I made the little gift bag, then stop by the Simply Sassy Blog .  You may have seen these bags around blogland, but if you haven't, I've included all the instructions over there.  Wouldn't these be great for little graduation gifts or teacher appreciation gifts?

Simply A Sneak Peek

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I have a little sneak peek to share with you today.  Sugar Nellie is preparing to release set 7 of the Simply Sassy images and I used one of the new images on my card.

This little sweetie is called Missing You.  Isn't she gorgeous?  I definitely think she looks like she's missing someone as her face looks a little sad, doesn't it?  I used my copics and colored pencils to color this cutie.  I followed Erika's sketch from over at The Sugar Bowl.  I added some punched flowers with pearls and a few pearls in the corner of my card.

Remember there's still plenty of time to join in the challenge over at The Sugar Bowl.  The latest Simply Sassy images will be avilable over at Funky Kits this Saturday so make sure you stop by to check them out.

Hello friends.  I hope you're having a wonderful week so far.  We have a new challenge over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Our lovely Hayley chose the theme for this week's challenge and she chose Black + White + One Other Color.

I used Martini Nikki this week.  Doesn't she look like she's enjoying a nice leisurely evening?  I colored Nikki with copics and colored pencils and added lots of Glamour Dust to her blouse.  I embossed my cardstock and used my new MFT die as a mat behind Nikki.  The ribbon is from my stash and I thought it worked perfectly for this card.

Be sure to stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to check out the gorgeous cards made by the other DT members.  I hope you find some time to play along in our challenge this week.

So here's the card I made for our friend.  I just love this image ... I think his big eyeglasses are just too cute!  The image is from Pollycraft and it's called Maurice - Caught One.  I colored Maurice with my copics and colored pencils and used Glossy Accents on his eyeglasses.  I used some stickles on the fish, and added some buttons and twine.  My sentiment is computer-generated.

Eeek! It's a Mouse!

Hello friends.  Are you ready for the weekend?  I hope you have a fabulous one planned and that the weather cooperates :)

I made my card using a Bugaboo digital stamp.  Isn't this little mouse a cutie?  I colored her (well, it has a pink balloon, so it has to be a she, right?) with copics and colored pencils.  I added a little touch of stickles to the heart on her fanny.  I used stickles on the balloon and then added Glossy Accents to make it shine.  My border punch is Martha Stewart lace hearts and the flowers are from my EK Success punches.  A very quick and easy card that will find its way to Card Cupids.  If you're not familiar with this wonderful organization, please check it out here.

A Measure of Love

Happy Thursday friends.  I hope you've been having a fantastic week so far.  We've been having a lot of rain (again) so I've used that as a reason to stay inside and get some cards finished.  Since it's Thursday, that means we have a new challenge over at the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog.  Our challenge this week is to make a 4" x 9 1/4" card.

I used Garden Fairy and Measure of Love on my card.  These are two of the images from Meljen's adorable new release.  I used copics and colored pencils to color the images.  I've added some stickles to the fairy's hearts and wings.  I used Glossy Accents on the measuring cup and hearts.  I used a little bit of ribbon and a pretty little bow to finish my card.

Be sure to stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to check out the beautiful work by the awesome DT.  Here's the latest Meljen's Designs release.  Aren't they all adorable?  You can find these images and all the other Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps.

Simply Flirting

Good evening friends.  I have a new card to share with you.

This is Winking Student.  Isn't she adorable?  And her pink shoes ... they're so cute and girly!  I think she looks like she's being sassy and flirting with a cute boy in her class.  I used my copics and colored pencils and then added some stickles to her hair wraps and the little hearts on her socks.  I used Glossy Accents on the apple but I don't think it really shows in the picture.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart.  I used some lace and twine, and then added one of my yo yo flowers.  A few buttons tied with twine finished off my card.

If you love the Simply Sassy stamps as much as I do, then you'll want to visit the Simply Sassy Blog.  You're sure to find tons of inspiration, and every Thursday one of their amazing DT members shares a tutorial.  And don't forget about The Sugar Bowl Challenge.  Every other Thursday they post a new challenge.  They will be posting a new challenge tomorrow so be sure to check it out.  You'll have two weeks to enter and there's the chance to win lovely prizes.

We're Going Dotty over at Ladybug Crafts Ink

Good morning friends.  I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday :)  We have a new challenge today over on the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Our lovely DT coordinator, Lisa, chose the theme this week and she has asked us to "go dotty"!  So as you can see, our challenge this week is super easy so there's no reason for you not to play along, right?

I used this adorable little Football Jack and colored him with copics and colored pencils.  I cut him out with my Spellbinders deckled rectangles, and then used my MFT die to cut the grass.  I added some brads and a button.  My sentiment is from It's Only Words 2.

Be sure to stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to see the amazing work by the DT.   You can get all the details about the challenge while you're there, too.  I hope you find some time to play along with us this week and show us how you get dotty!  You can find all the fabulous LCI stamps here.  And while you're in the shop be sure to check out the gorgeous ribbons, felt, and other goodies.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
