Totally Ladybug Tuesday's Color Wheel

Good morning everyone!  Today is Totally Ladybug Tuesday and that means we have a new challenge for you over on the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Caz, our guest DT member for November, chose our challenge this week and she picked the color wheel.  She asked that we design a card using the color that is opposite our favorite color on the color wheel...hmm, have I confused you yet?

My favorite color is red so when you look at the color wheel, green is on the opposite side of the wheel.  So I had to use green for my card today.  The image I used for my card is that cute little Cheeky Jack, and you can find him here.  I used my copics and prismacolor pencils to color my image and used Glossy Accents on his tongue.  I added a button with a twine bow...I figured since the bow was from twine it would be OK for a boy's card.  I have such a hard time making male cards.  If I can't add ribbon, lace, flowers or glitter, then I really struggle with the finishing touches lol!  I added some brads and my sentiment and my card was finished.  This is what I call a clean and simple card...no frills or frou-frou (is that really a word?)

Now, be sure you stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to see what the amazing DT has created this week.  If you joined us last week for Michele's sketch, thank you!  I hope you'll be able to join in our challenge this week, too...there's a chance to win a prize.

During the month of December, Kerry is offering a Buy One - Get One 1/2 price sale.  And if you buy two stamps, you get two at 1/2 price.  If you've been wanting to treat yourself to some new LCI stamps for Christmas, now is the time.  I mean, think about it...you pick out and order your own stamps and you know you're gonna love that Christmas gift!  It's one size fits all and no standing in a long line to return something you don't like, right?  You can check out all of the Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Robbie

Happy Monday to all of you.  Today I have a card with a Whipper Snapper image.  I absolutely love Whipper Snapper stamps...they are so adorable.  I bought this cute little stamp last year and I'm just now getting around to making it into a card.  Yes, I am sooo slow lol!

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  My papers are BoBunny (from last year).  I am almost out of this dp and I wish I could find more...it's one of my favorite Christmas papers.  I love the color combo and the big snowflakes and polka-dots.  I used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch and added some ribbon and a glittered snowflake.  I applied stickles on the snow, greenery, and the berries.  My sentiment is from PTI.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Christmas Tags

Did you hit the stores for the big after-Thanksgiving sales?  Not me...I don't do Black Friday.  I tried it one year and decided that would be my last year lol!  But to those of you brave enough to face those crowds and wait in long lines, I hope you found everything you were looking for!

Anyway, Stampendous has been sharing some holiday ideas over at Paper Craft Planet.  One of their projects was a gift bag with notecards that can be found here.  I decided to make the gift bag and fill it with Christmas tags instead.

This is the gift bag with the tags inside.  I used the Starry Holly image from MelJen's Designs.  This image is a freebie that Melissa designed and you can find it here

I used a small holly leaf stamp and my VersaMark ink pad to decorate the bag and tied it closed with a little white bow.  I added some dp and red ribbon to a pen for a matching set.

I used a Sizzix die to cut out the tags.  I haven't used that die in ages...I love it when I am able to use things that I purchased long ago.  I think maybe it makes me feel less guilty about having so much junk crafting stuff.

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I cut it out and matted it with my Nestabilities.  I added a little Glamour Dust for some sparkle and tied on some embroidery floss.  Because the image is so simple, these tags were done in no time.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!  I hope you're able to spend the day with your loved ones...eating, relaxing, and just enjoying each other's company.  I had hoped to make a Thanksgiving card to post today, but as you can see, that didn't happen.  So, I'm sharing a very simple Christmas card instead.

I used the Starry Holly image by MelJen's Designs.  This is one of Melissa's freebie images and you can find it here.  I used my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color the image and then added some Glamour Dust for some sparkle.  I used my new Sizzix Basic Grey embossing folder (Snowglobe) to emboss the holly and berries on my cardstock.  My image was cut out using Nestabilities and then I used my Martha Stewart holly border punch.  A little ribbon, a bow, and a button...and it's done!  This was a very quick and easy card.

Please stop by the MelJen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog today to check out the latest challenge.  And while you're there, be sure to take a look at the latest creations by the talented Design Team!

Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT - Sketch

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It's Ladybug Crafts Ink Totally Ladybug Tuesday and that means that we have a new challenge posted for you over at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Our lovely ladybug Michele chose the challenge this week and she asked us to work a sketch for our projects.  Here's my interpretation of Michele's sketch...now, I did have to turn it so I hope that's OK Michele!

I watercolored my image using my Distress Inks.  This was such a nice break from my Prismacolor pencils that I've been using lately.  I've added pearls, Glamour Dust, metallic pens, and Fluffy Stuff to my cupcakes.  This is the first time I have worked with Fluffy Stuff and I love it!  Thanks, Kerry, for sending it to me!  I used Glossy Accents on the wagon wheels and the cherry stem.  I've used white floss to add the bows to her hair and to tie the little punch tag onto my ribbon.  I bought these Doodlebug Design cherry brads quite awhile back and finally got to use one of them...yay!  My papers are Doodlebug Design.  I love their bright, cheery papers and I think they go so well with cute images like this Cupcake Cutie!

Now, be sure to stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to see what the lovely ladybugs have created.  I hope you find time to join in our challenge this week...there's a chance to win a prize!  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Puppies

I hope you're having a wonderful day today.  I have another Stampavie card to share with you today.  This one is called 'Christmas Puppies' and I just love this image.  These little puppies look like they're all ready for Christmas...probably hoping Santa left them some yummy treats in their stockings!

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and used my white gel pen to add some polka dots to their stockings.  I added some Glamour Dust to my image to make it sparkle.  I just bought this new Sizzix Embosslit Die the other day at my LSS, Simply Scrapbooks so I used it to make this pretty snowflake.  I brayered VersaMagic ink onto the snowflake and added some clear embossing powder and heat set it.

Are you all ready for Christmas?  Well, I'm not...I've still got a very long list of things I need to finish before Christmas gets here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Make A Wish

Hello peeps!  Today we have a new challenge over at the Just Cute Bears and Friends Challenge.  The newest challenge is to create a card or other project for a Winter Birthday.

I used Lili of the Valley's James Bear - Sledging Along for my card (thanks Tammi!).  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  My papers are Falling Snow by Fancy Pants, and Core'dinations.  I used some Glossy Accents on his eyes and nose.  I also used some Recollections flowers, a MS punch, Glamour Dust and some glittery snowflakes.  I added pearls to the sowflakes.  My ticket sentiment is from Whimsey Stamps Ticket Sentiments.  I followed the sketch from Cute Card Thursday for my layout.
