Exciting News

I have some exciting news ... I was selected to be a Guest DT member for the Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy Design Team.  Woohoo!!!  There were so many talented people that entered and I was afraid that I didn't have much of a chance of being picked.  I'm so glad that I decided to give it a try.  Thanks Maria Therese for giving me this chance to work along with your fantastic DT for a couple of months.

Please be sure to visit the Simply Sassy DT Blog to see their beautiful cards and all the latest Simply Sassy images.

Thank you for stopping by.  Your kind comments mean so much to me and they always brighten my day.

Sugar Nellie

Happy Friday!  Yes, the weekend is finally here ... it's time to kick back and relax.  Have you seen these gorgeous new Simply Sassy stamps from Sugar Nellie?  I adore them!  I just got them a couple of days ago and today is the first chance I've had to play with them.  Sugar Nellie is having a Guest DT call and you can get all the details here.  There are so many talented people who have applied.  But I figured I'd give it a try anyway, so I'm entering this card in their GDT call.

This image is called High School Student.  Don't you just love her?  She's such a cutie with her little lunchbox and legwarmers.  And I love her big glasses!  Anyway, I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I distressed the edges of all my papers with distress ink and stitched around all my papers.  I added some ribbon and a bow.  I also added distress ink to my punched flowers, along with some chocolate pearls.  My sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps and is called Ticket Sentiments ... I just love these ticket stamps.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Put Your Heart Into It

Good morning everyone.  I hope you're having a wonderful Thursday.  Only one more day and then the weekend will be here ... yeah!  We have a new challenge for you today over on the Meljen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog.  This week we are asking you to ... put your heart into it ... in other words, use hearts.  And, since it will soon be Valentine's Day, why not use this challenge to get some of your Valentine cards made?

I used Lovin' Turtle on my card today.  I colored my image with copics and colored pencils and added a little StarDust stickles to the hearts on her shell.  Yes, I've decided my Lovin' Turtle is a girl ... that's why she's got stickles on her shell!  I added some ribbon and a bow, my sentiment, and some hearts cut with my nesties.  My paper is the new We R Memory Keepers Valentine line and I've fallen in love with it.  Wow, I must be getting better since I'm actually using this paper rather than hoarding it LOL!

Now, be sure you stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog  to check out all the gorgeous work by the DT members and to get all the details on our latest challenge.  Here's the latest release from Meljen's Designs.  Aren't they just the cutest?  Such perfect images for your Valentine cards.  You can purchase these or any of Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps.

This stamp is by Penny Black and it's called Sweet Thing.  I colored this little sweetie with my copics and colored pencils.  I added Glamour Dust to her wings and the cupcake.  I also added Glamour Dust around the edge of my image.  I used my Martha Stewart Layered Arches punches and added a bow with a little charm.

Frosty the Snowman

Happy Wednesday to all of you.  I was blog hopping a few days ago and ran across Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog.  The challenge for December is Anything Winter.  I really wanted to enter this challenge but all my Elisabeth Bell winter images were Christmas stamps.  So, I had to go shopping and look at what I found!

I absolutely love snowmen and when I saw this image I knew I had to have it.  The image is called Frosty the Snowman and I purchased it from Elisabeth Bell's Digi Gallery.  I think this image of the children building their snowman is just too stinkin' ca-ute!  Anyway, one of my best friends keeps a stash of cocoa mixes in her desk at work because her office is always so cold during the winter.  She keeps them in a little ugly plastic sandwich bag ... yuck!  We're meeting for lunch later this week so I decided to make her a pretty holder for her cocoa mixes.  She loves it when I make her crafty things.

I colored the image with copics and colored pencils and added Glamour Dust for all the sparkle.  I've used various punches for my snowflakes and added Glamour Dust and pearls.  I used the tutorial that Jodi (Inked Inspirations) shared on her blog (with an adjustment to accomodate the thicker packets of cocoa mix).

Here's a picture of the inside.  I've had these snowflake brads in my stash for a long time.  I love being able to use up something I've had forever.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Don't Be Square

Happy Tuesday to all of you!  Today is Totally Ladybug Tuesday and we have a new challenge for you over on the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Our lovely Lisa picked the challenge this week and she asked that we make anything but a square.  So, I pulled out my Nestabilities and made a round easel card.

My sweet little image is from Ladybug Craft Ink's new Baby Baby set.  I used copics and colored pencils on my image and added a little stickles to his blanket.  I used white acrylic paint to make the polka dots.  I added a little bow and a button and this card was finished.  The sentiment is also from the Baby Baby set.

Be sure you go to the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to see what my talented teamies have made this week.  And, you can find out if you were a lucky winner in last week's Blog Hop or TLT challenge.  I hope you find some time to join us this week for our anything but a square challenge.

I used Bird's Spring Trinkets on my card today.  I just love this cute bird with his "SPRING" banner.  After all the freezing temperatures and snow we've had lately, this little birdy was the perfect reminder that this nasty weather is only temporary lol!  I used colored pencils and gamsol on my image and added some Glossy Accents to his beak and boots.  I added flowers and a bow and decorated those with some buttons.

Baby, Baby

OK, grab your favorite drink and get comfy because I've got a long post.

Today is Totally Ladybug Tuesday and we've got a  Blog Hop going on!  Kerry has a new release of stamps and we are having a blog hop to celebrate.  You can check out the new set of stamps over at Ladybug Crafts Ink.  They are baby stamps and they are so adorably cute!

I used the bathtub baby for my card today.  The image is colored with copics and prismacolor pencils.  I added some pearls to the bathtub for the bubbles.  I used Fluffy Stuff on all the water and dusted it with Glamour Dust before I heat embossed it.  There's a tiny little bow tied with embroidery floss that I placed on her little curl.  My sentiment is also part of the new release and I punched it out with a Martha Stewart punch and tied it into my flowers with some embroidery floss.  I added pearls to the center of my flowers and the corners of the card.  I finished my card by adding ribbon, a bow and a charm.

Anything Goes ... and a Blog Hop!

Good morning to all of you and I hope you're having a great Tuesday.  We have a new challenge over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Since everyone is just winding down from all the holiday activities, we've kept the challenge easy this week and our theme is ... Anything Goes!

I've used Shopping Nikki on my card today.  I colored my image with copics and prismacolor pencils and then I paper pieced the shopping bags.  I used a black glaze pen on her belt and buttons and a Stardust pen on her shoes and belt buckle for a little bit of sparkle.  I stitched around my image and added a little red bow with a button.  I love this sentiment...isn't it great for this image?  It's also a Ladybug Crafts Ink stamp and you can find the set of sentiments here

Be sure you stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog so you can see what the other ladybugs created.  I hope you find some time to play along in our challenge this week.  You might notice that we have a new DT member today ... PamiPami joined us in November as a Guest DT member and she fit in so well with our team that Kerry invited Pami back as a permanent member.  We all missed Pami and we're so glad she's back with us!

Now, let's talk about the Blog Hop!  We're having a blog hop next week to celebrate the release of new Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps...yeah!  Believe me, you will definitely want to return next week to check out the new stamps because they are adorable (there's a tiny sneak peak on our blog banner).  The blog hop will kick off on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.  We would love it if you would display our blog banner to help us promote the Blog Hop.

Wishes

Happy Sunday to all of you .... and Happy New Year since this is my first post of 2011!

I managed to catch one heck of a cold this week and haven't felt like making cards until today.  I've got a couple of DT cards that are due so I need to get busy on those too.  But first, I have a birthday card to share with you.  I've had these Magnolia stamps for a while and just now got around to inking them up.

The stamp is Fairy Dust Tilda and she's one of my favorite Magnolia stamps ... hmm, I think I say that about all my stamps, don't I?  I used my prismacolor pencils to color the image.  I added Glamour Dust to the eyelet on her outfit and to the "fairy dust" she's blowing.  I stamped and embossed the Snowy Circle and then added a tiny little pearl in each of the snowflakes.  I embossed my cardstock with a snowflake embossing folder and added some navy ribbon, and larger pearls in the corners.

Thank you for stopping by.
