Totally Ladybug Tuesday

Happy Tuesday to all of you.  We have a new challenge for you over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink Totally Ladybug Challenge Blog.  Our lovely Pinky chose the theme this week and she asked that we make a card for a child.

I used Football Jack for my card today.  Yes, for those of us on this side of the big pond, we would call this Soccer Jack.  But Ladybug Crafts Ink is in Scotland and so this is Football Jack.  Isn't he a cutie?  My 5 year old grandson plays soccer so this image reminds me of him.  Of course, I use the word "plays" loosely.  At 5 years old, I think they are there more to socialize with their friends, get a treat when the game is over, and collect a trophy at the end of the season lol!

Anyway, enough blabbering, I used my copics and colored pencils to color Jack.  I used my Basic Grey Max and Whiskers paper for this card ... yes, another pad I've been hoarding ... but I am getting better at using my papers, I promise!  Since this card is for a boy, I've kept my embellishments to a minimum.  That's so hard for me because I love the glitter, ribbon, flowers and all the glitz!  So anyway, just a button with a little twine bow for an embellishment.  For my layout, I used a sketch I saw over on the Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog awhile back.  I really liked this layout, especially for a male card.  I have a hard time with cards for boys and men, so it was nice to have a starting point for this card.

Be sure you stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to check out the beautiful work by my Ladybug teamies.  I hope you find the time to enter our challenge this week.

Sugar Nellie

Happy Friday!  Yes, the weekend is finally here ... it's time to kick back and relax.  Have you seen these gorgeous new Simply Sassy stamps from Sugar Nellie?  I adore them!  I just got them a couple of days ago and today is the first chance I've had to play with them.  Sugar Nellie is having a Guest DT call and you can get all the details here.  There are so many talented people who have applied.  But I figured I'd give it a try anyway, so I'm entering this card in their GDT call.

This image is called High School Student.  Don't you just love her?  She's such a cutie with her little lunchbox and legwarmers.  And I love her big glasses!  Anyway, I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I distressed the edges of all my papers with distress ink and stitched around all my papers.  I added some ribbon and a bow.  I also added distress ink to my punched flowers, along with some chocolate pearls.  My sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps and is called Ticket Sentiments ... I just love these ticket stamps.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Put Your Heart Into It

Good morning everyone.  I hope you're having a wonderful Thursday.  Only one more day and then the weekend will be here ... yeah!  We have a new challenge for you today over on the Meljen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog.  This week we are asking you to ... put your heart into it ... in other words, use hearts.  And, since it will soon be Valentine's Day, why not use this challenge to get some of your Valentine cards made?

I used Lovin' Turtle on my card today.  I colored my image with copics and colored pencils and added a little StarDust stickles to the hearts on her shell.  Yes, I've decided my Lovin' Turtle is a girl ... that's why she's got stickles on her shell!  I added some ribbon and a bow, my sentiment, and some hearts cut with my nesties.  My paper is the new We R Memory Keepers Valentine line and I've fallen in love with it.  Wow, I must be getting better since I'm actually using this paper rather than hoarding it LOL!

Now, be sure you stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog  to check out all the gorgeous work by the DT members and to get all the details on our latest challenge.  Here's the latest release from Meljen's Designs.  Aren't they just the cutest?  Such perfect images for your Valentine cards.  You can purchase these or any of Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps.

In the Garden

Hello friends.  It's finally warming up and the snow is melting.  I'm hoping we'll have some nicer weather for the next few days.  Anyway, I do have a card to share with you.

This cute kitty is by Penny Black and it's from their In The Garden set.  There are so many cute images in this set.  Penny Black always makes such adorable little animals.  I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and added some Glamour Dust to the flower.  The border punch is the EK Success paw print punch ... isn't it cute?  I think it's perfect for animal cards.  I added some pearls and a bow and this card was finished ... very clean and simple.

Totally Ladybug Tuesday!  Our lovely Guest Designer, Amber, chose our theme this week and she wants to see everyone go Plum Crazy With Stitching.

I used Dressing Up Robyn for my card today.  I colored her with my copics and colored pencils and added some stickles to her shoes, necklace, and the flowers on her hat.  I used My Favorite Things Dienamics Rolled Flower die to make my flowers.  I added some pearls on my card and in each flower.  I added ribbon and a bow to finish it off.  You can find Dressing Up Robyn and all the other fabulous Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps here.

Sweet Thing

Hello everyone.  I hope you're managing to stay nice and warm where you are.  It's freezing cold here today ... below zero this morning.  Even the dog doesn't want to go out lol!  I'm trying to stay inside where it's warm and get some cards completed.

This stamp is by Penny Black and it's called Sweet Thing.  I colored this little sweetie with my copics and colored pencils.  I added Glamour Dust to her wings and the cupcake.  I also added Glamour Dust around the edge of my image.  I used my Martha Stewart Layered Arches punches and added a bow with a little charm.

I finished the inside with some Nestabilities hearts and a sentiment by PTI.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!
