Good morning everyone! Are you ready for Santa? I have some gifts to wrap, but other than that I think I'm ready for the chubby guy's visit ;-) I love making tags for gifts and I have a couple to share with you today.
It seems that everyone is creating distress ink backgrounds so I thought I would give it a try. I cut the tags using the Sugar Cuts - Gift Tag die from SugarPea Designs. I masked off the bottom of the tags and then applied several shades of blue distress ink. Then I flicked tiny drops of water over the ink. The water causes the ink to move, which creates the "splotchy" look you see above. I love this effect, but I think I need some more practice. I chose to use the trees from the Merry Christmoose set and the snowman from the Frosty Friends set. I colored them with copics and applied some Glamour Dust to the snowman. The stars on the trees and the sentiment banners are also from the Gift Tag - Sugar Cuts Die. The trees and snowman are popped up on foam for dimension. I added a bit of ribbon and twine to finish off my tags.
My favorite local papercrafting store is The Paper Cottage. Last month they had their Christmas Open House and one of their make-n-take projects was a gift bag very similar to this. I needed a few quick & easy gift bags and decided to use their design to create my bags. I stamped the sentiment from the Lost Without You stamp set. I used the Layered Treat Labels and Sweet Treats - Christmas stamp sets from SugarPea Designs. I used the Layered Treat Label - Sugar Cuts Die to cut the label and then tied the label to the bag using some ribbon.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Hugs, Anita
