Friends Fur-ever

Good morning friends.  I hope you had a fantastic weekend.  Mine was pretty quiet but I have lots of DT cards due this week so that kept me pretty busy.  After having a couple of really nice, warm days last week, our temperatures dropped again and it was really cold this weekend.  Perfect weather for working on cards, right?

Since it's Monday that means there's a new challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge Blog.  Their challenge this week is friends.  Sadly, this is my last week as a guest designer with Pollycraft.  It has been so much fun designing with their adorable images and Paula, the owner, is a dream to work with.  So I just want to thank Paula and her amazing DT for letting me play along with them this month.  So, here's the card I made for this challenge:

I used Spring Things - Blossoming Friendship and colored with copics and colored pencils.  I added StarDust stickles to the flowers in the trees.  I used some Glossy Accents on the dog's eyes and nose, and the bird's beak and feet.  I love these bright cheery papers from Echo Park.  They make me think of spring ... which I hope will soon be here!

Please be sure to drop by the Pollycraft Challenge Blog to see what the talented DT girls have created this week.  I hope you find some time to play along in their challenge.

I'm Sorry ...

Hello friends.  Today is Thursday so that means we have a new challenge over at the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog.

I used Makeup Brush on my card and colored it with copics and colored pencils.  I stitched all my papers and used my nestabilities to cut out my image.  I applied some Angel Wings Shimmerz to the powder in the compact to give it just a hint of sparkle.  Then I added lots of StarDust stickles to the brush handle and the compact.  I used more of my MME Stella and Rose paper (I absolutely love these new papers) and added a few matching buttons.  I added a little bow and tied on a tag that I punched out with my Martha Stewart tag punch.

I finished the inside of my card with Nail Polish, which was also colored with copics and colored pencils.  I added some StarDust Stickles to the nail polish and added Glossy Accents to the brush handle.  My sentiment is computer-generated.  I used a Fiskars punch for the border.

Here's the latest Meljen's Designs release.  You can find these cute images and all the Meljen's Designs over at Whimsy Stamps.  Please be sure to stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to see what the other super-talented DT have created this week.  I hope you have time to play along in our challenge this week.

Luv a Latte

Hello friends!  I hope you're having a fun week so far.  Only a couple more days till the weekend ... yeah!  We've been having some beautiful weather here.  Our weather report keeps calling for rain but so far we've been extremely lucky and most of it has missed us.  I am so ready for spring, how about you?

I have a new card to share with you today.  I used Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Luv a Latte today and colored her using my copics and colored pencils.  No glitter or stickles on this one, can you believe it?  I've stitched my papers and added some lace, butterflies and a heart doily.  I stippled my doily with distress inks to tone down the bright white color.  I also added a little distress ink to my butterflies, along with a little pearl on each one.  I made a lace rosette and topped it with a couple of buttons.  I've cut out my sassy girl and popped her up on dimensionals.  You can find my cutie pie and all her sassy friends over at Funky Kits

You Set My Heart A Flutter

Please scroll down to view my earlier LCI post

Hello friends and thanks for stopping by.  Today I get to share my very first Amber Ink project with you.

I used "You set my heart a flutter" and colored it using my copics and colored pencils.  I added some Glamour Dust to the heart and butterfly, and added a bit of ribbon to finish it off.  This image was so easy and fun to color.  I can see using this image for Valentine's Day, an anniversary card, or to make a card for that "special" someone in your life.

Totally Ladybug Tuesday Challenge #20

Hi everyone!  Today is Tuesday so that means it's time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday Challenge.  Our lovely Gaelle selected the challenge this week and she is asking that we go monochromatic.  I really struggled with trying to create something using only one color family, so this was not an easy challenge for me.  But in the end, I think Nikki looks rather lovely, if I do say so myself lol!

I used Winestool Nikki on my card.  I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I used lots of Glamour Dust to make her dress and matching shoes sparkle.  I guess I thought she needed lots of glitter so she didn't look too drab with the beige/brown color combo.  I also added some sparkle to her glass.  I used my MS punch for the branches and my flowers were made using EK Success punhes.  I added some pearls to finish my card.

Be sure to stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to check out the amazing work by the DT, and I hope you find time to play along in our challenge.  You can find all the wonderful LCI stamps, felt, ribbon, buttons, and more over in the shop

Pollycraft Challenge #85

Hello friends.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We had some fantastic weather over the weekend but unfortunately, that's suppose to come to an end.  According to our local weather report, we're now looking at rain for the next few days ... instead of working on cards I guess I'd better start building an ark lol!  Anway, since I don't think you stopped by for a weather report, I'll move on to my card.

Today is Monday so that means there's another fantastic challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is Swirls and Pearls and I thought the beautiful  Clover Dancing with Dragonflies would be perfect for this theme.

I colored my image with copics and colored pencils and added some Glamour Dust to her wings, the dragonfly, and some of the flowers.  I used my embossing folder to make the swirls on my cardstock and cut out my image with my nestabilities.  I added ribbon and a bow, some pearls, and a little red flower to finish my card.

A Little Love

Happy Thursday to all of you.  Since it's Thursday, that means we have a new challenge for you over on the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog.  Our challenge this week is to use dots.  Now, how easy is that?

I decided to use Little Love Duck today.  I love the heart in his mouth and his big old boots ... he's so cute.  I used copics and colored pencils and added StarDust stickles to the heart and Glossy Accents to his beak.  I cut out Little Love Duck and popped him up on some cardstock that I embossed with my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  My heart border was made with my Martha Stewart punch.  I used one of the yo-yo flowers I made for my tutorial here.  My layout is a sketch from The Sweet Stop.

Bedtime Snuggles

Hello friends and happy Wednesday!  I have a new Simply Sassy card to share with you today.

This is Bedtime Snuggles, one of Sugar Nellie's newer Simply Sassy images.  Isn't she gorgeous?  I love her beautiful hair and those bunny slippers are just the cutest.  She was so much fun to color.  I used copics and colored pencils.  I added a touch of Glamour Dust to the heart on her hairbow.  I used my MFT die for the flowers and added a little pearl to each one.  I added some ribbon, a bow and a little charm with the moon and a star.  I always see the most beautiful flourishes on everyone's cards.  I had a really hard time trying to figure out how to use these flourishes but I guess they look OK.  Maybe practice makes perfect?  Thank you, Dolly, for loaning me your flourishes die.

I don't normally use a lot of orange in my cards.  But when I saw these new MME Stella and Rose papers at my LSS, Simply Scrapbooks, I fell in love with them ... and I bought quite a few of them.  So, you will probably be seeing more orange cards on my blog.  But hey, at least I'm not hoarding this paper lol!

Pollycraft Monday

Hello peeps!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  It was cold and very windy here but at least the sun was shining!  I had such a nice and relaxing weekend.  I spent the day Friday with a stamping friend and and we just talked and stamped.  Then we went out to a nice restaurant for lunch.  Then on Saturday my monthly painting group met and we had a carry-in for lunch.  So we talked and painted ... and ate.  Hmm, sounds like a weekend full of talking and eating, doesn't it?  Anyway, it was a nice weekend.

So, it's Monday ... and that means it's time for a new challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is teens.

I used Jerry Kisses - Drummer on my card.  Isn't he too cute?  Makes me think of my 5 year-old grandson.  Hubby and I bought him a drum set and he loves to play them.  Of course, we are smart grandparents ... we sent the drumset home with him to his house lol!  I'm sure our daughter really appreciates that.  Anyway, you can find him (the image, not my grandson) in the Pollycraft Shop

I used my copics and colored pencils to color him and his drums.   I used some Rock Candy Stickles on the star on his drums.  I wrapped some cappuccino twine around my card and tied it off with a button.  Since it's a card for a boy I didn't want to add a lot of embellishments.  Paula carries a whole line of Jerry Kisses images that are perfect for male  cards so you may want to stop by her shop and check them all out.  Be sure to stop by the Pollycraft Challenge Blog to check out the fabulous projects by the talented DT.  I hope you find time to play along in the challenge this week.

Simply Fabulous Darling

Hello friends.  I hope you've had a wonderful week.  Only one more day till the weekend ... yeah!  I have a couple of things to share with you today.  I have a new card to share and I also have a tutorial ... yes, a real tutorial Well, I never ever thought I'd be doing a tutorial.

I used Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Fabulous Darling on my card.  Isn't she gorgeous?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I used Glamour Dust on her hairbow, earrings, and shoes.  Don't you just love those shoes?  What I wouldn't have given to have had a pair of those shoes back in the day (no, I'm not saying how many years ago that would have been)!  My butterflies are courtesy of Martha Stewart's punch and I added a little pearl to each one.  I also used Martha's lace heart border punch.  I stitched my papers and distressed them with Antique Linen ink.  The lace is from my stash.  The lovely yo-yo flower was made by me.  OK, I know, pick yourself up off the floor!

So, what and where is my tutorial, you ask?  Well my tutorial gives you instructions and pictures so you can make your own yo-yo flowers.  That's the name of this type of flower ... or at least it's the name I've always heard used for these flowers.  You can find my tutorial here.  And you can find all the Sugar Nellie stamps at Funky Kits.

And here are some other yo-yo flowers I made.  As you can see, you can make them any color and size that you like.  And they're super easy to make so be sure to check out my tutorial

Simply Delicious

Hello friends.  I hope you're having a fantastic day.  I have a new Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy card to share with you today.

This is Delicious, from the latest Simply Sassy release.  Isn't she pretty?  I love her chef's hat and those pretty tights she's wearing with the little hearts.  I colored Delicious with copics and colored pencils.  I added some Glamour Dust to sparkle things up a big.  And I used some Glossy Accents on the buttons on her jacket.  I added some candy dots in the corners.  My layout is Lillian's sketch from The Sugar Bowl.  If you would like to see some beautiful cards featuring Delicious and all the Sassy girls, check out the Simply Sassy DT Blog.

I want to thank you for stopping by.  Please stop by tomorrow as I have another card to share with you.

Hugs, Anita

Totally Ladybug Tuesday Challenge 18

Hello friends.  Today is Tuesday so you know what that means ... yes, a new challenge over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Our lovely Sue selected the challenge this week and she asked us to create something using spring colors.

I decided to use Roadster Nikki.  I love this Nikki image.  Doesn't she look like she's having a blast zipping around in her cute little car?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I added some Glossy Accents to the headlights and some stickles to the heart exhaust.  I used my EK Success punches for my flowers and added a little pearl in each one.

Now, be sure you head over to the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to check out the amazing work by the DT.  And if you enter in the challenge, you'll have a shot at winning the prize.  You can find all the Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps here.  And Kerry is now stocking gorgeous ribbons and beautiful wool felts too, so be sure to check them out.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you find some time to stop by tomorrow as I'll have another card to share with you.
