Totally Ladybug Tuesday's Color Wheel

Good morning everyone!  Today is Totally Ladybug Tuesday and that means we have a new challenge for you over on the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Caz, our guest DT member for November, chose our challenge this week and she picked the color wheel.  She asked that we design a card using the color that is opposite our favorite color on the color wheel...hmm, have I confused you yet?

My favorite color is red so when you look at the color wheel, green is on the opposite side of the wheel.  So I had to use green for my card today.  The image I used for my card is that cute little Cheeky Jack, and you can find him here.  I used my copics and prismacolor pencils to color my image and used Glossy Accents on his tongue.  I added a button with a twine bow...I figured since the bow was from twine it would be OK for a boy's card.  I have such a hard time making male cards.  If I can't add ribbon, lace, flowers or glitter, then I really struggle with the finishing touches lol!  I added some brads and my sentiment and my card was finished.  This is what I call a clean and simple card...no frills or frou-frou (is that really a word?)

Now, be sure you stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to see what the amazing DT has created this week.  If you joined us last week for Michele's sketch, thank you!  I hope you'll be able to join in our challenge this week, too...there's a chance to win a prize.

During the month of December, Kerry is offering a Buy One - Get One 1/2 price sale.  And if you buy two stamps, you get two at 1/2 price.  If you've been wanting to treat yourself to some new LCI stamps for Christmas, now is the time.  I mean, think about it...you pick out and order your own stamps and you know you're gonna love that Christmas gift!  It's one size fits all and no standing in a long line to return something you don't like, right?  You can check out all of the Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Robbie

Happy Monday to all of you.  Today I have a card with a Whipper Snapper image.  I absolutely love Whipper Snapper stamps...they are so adorable.  I bought this cute little stamp last year and I'm just now getting around to making it into a card.  Yes, I am sooo slow lol!

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  My papers are BoBunny (from last year).  I am almost out of this dp and I wish I could find more...it's one of my favorite Christmas papers.  I love the color combo and the big snowflakes and polka-dots.  I used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch and added some ribbon and a glittered snowflake.  I applied stickles on the snow, greenery, and the berries.  My sentiment is from PTI.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Christmas Tags

Did you hit the stores for the big after-Thanksgiving sales?  Not me...I don't do Black Friday.  I tried it one year and decided that would be my last year lol!  But to those of you brave enough to face those crowds and wait in long lines, I hope you found everything you were looking for!

Anyway, Stampendous has been sharing some holiday ideas over at Paper Craft Planet.  One of their projects was a gift bag with notecards that can be found here.  I decided to make the gift bag and fill it with Christmas tags instead.

This is the gift bag with the tags inside.  I used the Starry Holly image from MelJen's Designs.  This image is a freebie that Melissa designed and you can find it here

I used a small holly leaf stamp and my VersaMark ink pad to decorate the bag and tied it closed with a little white bow.  I added some dp and red ribbon to a pen for a matching set.

I used a Sizzix die to cut out the tags.  I haven't used that die in ages...I love it when I am able to use things that I purchased long ago.  I think maybe it makes me feel less guilty about having so much junk crafting stuff.

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I cut it out and matted it with my Nestabilities.  I added a little Glamour Dust for some sparkle and tied on some embroidery floss.  Because the image is so simple, these tags were done in no time.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!  I hope you're able to spend the day with your loved ones...eating, relaxing, and just enjoying each other's company.  I had hoped to make a Thanksgiving card to post today, but as you can see, that didn't happen.  So, I'm sharing a very simple Christmas card instead.

I used the Starry Holly image by MelJen's Designs.  This is one of Melissa's freebie images and you can find it here.  I used my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color the image and then added some Glamour Dust for some sparkle.  I used my new Sizzix Basic Grey embossing folder (Snowglobe) to emboss the holly and berries on my cardstock.  My image was cut out using Nestabilities and then I used my Martha Stewart holly border punch.  A little ribbon, a bow, and a button...and it's done!  This was a very quick and easy card.

Please stop by the MelJen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog today to check out the latest challenge.  And while you're there, be sure to take a look at the latest creations by the talented Design Team!

Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT - Sketch

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It's Ladybug Crafts Ink Totally Ladybug Tuesday and that means that we have a new challenge posted for you over at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Our lovely ladybug Michele chose the challenge this week and she asked us to work a sketch for our projects.  Here's my interpretation of Michele's sketch...now, I did have to turn it so I hope that's OK Michele!

I watercolored my image using my Distress Inks.  This was such a nice break from my Prismacolor pencils that I've been using lately.  I've added pearls, Glamour Dust, metallic pens, and Fluffy Stuff to my cupcakes.  This is the first time I have worked with Fluffy Stuff and I love it!  Thanks, Kerry, for sending it to me!  I used Glossy Accents on the wagon wheels and the cherry stem.  I've used white floss to add the bows to her hair and to tie the little punch tag onto my ribbon.  I bought these Doodlebug Design cherry brads quite awhile back and finally got to use one of them...yay!  My papers are Doodlebug Design.  I love their bright, cheery papers and I think they go so well with cute images like this Cupcake Cutie!

Now, be sure to stop by the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to see what the lovely ladybugs have created.  I hope you find time to join in our challenge this week...there's a chance to win a prize!  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Puppies

I hope you're having a wonderful day today.  I have another Stampavie card to share with you today.  This one is called 'Christmas Puppies' and I just love this image.  These little puppies look like they're all ready for Christmas...probably hoping Santa left them some yummy treats in their stockings!

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and used my white gel pen to add some polka dots to their stockings.  I added some Glamour Dust to my image to make it sparkle.  I just bought this new Sizzix Embosslit Die the other day at my LSS, Simply Scrapbooks so I used it to make this pretty snowflake.  I brayered VersaMagic ink onto the snowflake and added some clear embossing powder and heat set it.

Are you all ready for Christmas?  Well, I'm not...I've still got a very long list of things I need to finish before Christmas gets here.

MelJen's Designs - Special Release

Hello everyone!

Today we're celebrating the life of Keith L. Smith, father of Melissa Jenkins (artist/owner of MelJen's Designs).  Melissa's father passed away a year ago today.  Melissa designed this special set to celebrate her father's love of fishing.

Here is the card I created to honor Melissa's memory of her father.

My image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I've used a little bit of stickles on the fish and hooks, and used some Glosssy Accents on the worms and bobbers...well, I think they're called bobbers.  (Can you tell I don't fish?)

Melissa is giving away the Fisher Moose image.  Go to MelJen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog to see how you can enter the drawing.  And while you're there, leave Melissa a warm hug.

Melissa, you are in my thoughts and prayers today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today is Totally Ladybug Tuesday and that means we have another great challenge for you over at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge is to create a project with Christmas sparkle.  I used Nikki and Buttercup Running in Snow, one of my favorite LCI stamps.

A Star

Happy Saturday!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for my LSS, Simply Scrapbooks.

My image is Bright As A Star by Stampavie.  I just love this little bear and he was so much fun to color.  The new Stampavie Christmas stamps are so adorable and I bought several.  I hope I have time to get them all inked and colored before Christmas.  Yeah right...I have Christmas stamps from last year that still haven't seen ink lol!

I colored my image with copics and Prismacolor pencils and added Glamour Dust to his hat and the star. I stitched around my papers and added some ribbon and a bow.  I paper-pieced the gift box he's sitting on, and cut out and popped up the little gift box with the bow.  I also added some glitter to the little gift bow.  My little punched snowflake is also covered with Glamour Dust.  So, there's one more Christmas card to add to my stack!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Thursday at MelJen's Designs

Hello and happy Thursday!  I have a Christmas card to share with you today.  I used the Happy Holiday Wreath by Meljens Designs.

I colored my image with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I really wanted to keep my card layout very clean and simple so I embossed my cardstock for some texture and added some crimson pearls.  I added a little bit of Glamour Dust to my image.  I colored two bows and cut one out and popped it up using foam dots.  My friend Dolly gave me the idea to pop up the bow...thanks, Dolly!  Aside from coloring all those leaves (and I swear they kept multiplying while I was coloring them lol) this was a pretty simple card to make.

Be sure you stop by the MelJen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog.  We have a new challenge for you this week and Melissa also has a new release.  You won't want to miss it!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I do appreciate your visits and enjoy reading your comments.

Hugs, Anita

Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Ribbon

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Yes, that's right...it's Totally Ladybug Tuesday and we have a new challenge over on the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  I chose the challenge this week and I chose ribbon.  So, all you have to do is add ribbon to your project this week.  Now you can't get much easier than that so why don't you play along with us this week?  Here's my card for this challenge.

I used Birthday Cake Robyn and colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Isn't she cute?  I think this image makes a perfect birthday card for a little princess.  Of course I added some ribbon...well, I did have to follow my own challenge, right?  I made a little rosette by gathering one edge of my ribbon and added a button to the center.  I tied narrow ribbon through all my buttons, too.  I used plenty of Glamour Dust and stickles on my card and I also used one of my Martha Stewart border punches.

I decided to finish the inside of my card and added some balloons.  The sentiment is by Ladybug Crafts Ink.  You can find all of the Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps here.  And remember, if you order before the end of November, Kerry is offering a 15% discount off your total order.  Just be sure you use discount code "CB2010".

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol, and used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I added some stickles for the snow and the heart.  A glaze pen added a little gloss to his beak.  I used some Polar White Flower Soft on his hat and then tied on a ribbon.  This was a quick and easy card.

MelJen's Designs Challenge 32

Hello everyone.  I hope you're having a great Thursday.  We have a new challenge for you today over at MelJen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog.  The challenge is to use 3 different shapes on your project (square, circle, oval, heart, star, etc).  My card includes a square, a circle and an oval.

I used Fall Wreath from today's release for my card.  I also used the Happy Fall freebie which can be found here.  I colored my images with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and used my Nestabilities to cut out my images.  I applied Glamour Dust to the ribbon and bow on the wreath.

Be sure to stop by Meljen's Designs Challenge and Inspiration Blog to see the awesome projects by the other DT members.  I hope you can join in our challenge this week.  Melissa is also releasing these adorable new images today.  And remember, you can purchase Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps.

Totally Ladybug Tuesday

Hello everyone!  Today is Totally Ladybug Tuesday and it's a big day over at the  Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.  Not only is it our very FIRST challenge, but Kerry also has a release of new stamps and we are having a Blog Hop to celebrate!  There are five new stamps and the DT used them this week for the challenge.  I used Mistletoe Nikki and Ben for my card.  Isn't this the sweetest image?

Mary J chose the challenge this week and she chose a sketch, with a twist...she also asked that we decorate the inside of our card.  Mary J always decorates the inside of her cards and believe me, they are always gorgeous!

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I added some stickles to the berries and to the flower on Nikki's hat.  I punched out some snowflakes and covered them with Glamour Dust.  I used a Martha Stewart edge punch and added some cream ribbon. .

Here's how I decorated the inside of my card:

As you follow along in the Blog Hop, you'll get to see what the Ladybugs created with the other beautiful new stamps.  You should have arrived at my blog from Caz's blog.  If not, go back and start at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog.
